Community Land Trust Corporation

We are a charitable non-profit 501 (c) 3 Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) urban environmental & housing development organization dedicated to the preservation, creation & design of urban open green spaces and the rehabilitation and development of affordable housing in Philadelphia.

Who We Are

Community Land Trust Corporation (CLTC) was founded by Ms. Vivian VanStory in the mid 1980s, to preserve open spaces in her North Philadelphia neighborhood and reverse the rapidly deteriorating housing stock. Since then, CLTC has been dedicated to promoting and facilitating a holistic community involvement approach to address the issues of urban blight affecting North Philadelphia neighborhoods. CLTC is an advocate for the environmental rights and quality of life issues for the residents of Philadelphia. We have been a constant voice for the disenfranchised and a stabilizing presence within the community.

Mission

The purpose/primary objective of CLTC is to address the planning, design and management of outdoor environments. Also, the purpose of the organization is to promote and facilitate a more holistic approach to community revitalization through the physical development and rehabilitation of Philadelphia neighborhoods. CLTC will provide opportunities to promote the economic and social well-being of the area. CLTC wishes to provide local job training and employment to community members. These programs include the preservation of community parks and vacant lots.
