Community Land Trust Corporation (CLTC) was founded in 1984 as a non-profit humanitarian grass roots organization. It has since grown into a multi-purpose organization to address the planning, management, and maintenance of the public outdoor environment and housing development throughout North Central Philadelphia and its vicinity. CLTC is a cert 501(c) (3), Community Housing Organization (CHDO), and meets the requirements governed by the federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program.

  • CLTC has secured the acquisition and rights to approximately 75,000 sq. feet of urban open space.

  • CLTC is actively pursuing the acquisition and rehabilitation of ten vacant properties for housing opportunities with technical assistance from the nationally-acclaimed development firm, The Community Builders.

  • CLTC has establishment a Land Management Endowment Fund, administered by the Philadelphia Foundation.

  • CLTC initiated and continues the preservation and land maintenance of several open spaces in North Central Philadelphia.

  • CLTC actively promotes environmental and recycling issues in low-income neighborhoods.

  • CLTC continues to conduct summer youth environment educational programs in partnership with the Youth Works Learning Program.

  • CLTC acts as a comprehensive and supportive community-based center and advocate for neighborhood residents concerning housing / tenant rights; environmental issues related to waste disposal; graffiti; reporting of neglected, abandoned, and dangerous housing and vacant lots; health and safety issues; income eligibility mandated program issues; and nutritional education and assistance.

  • CLTC acts as a liaison to state and local elected representative offices for North Central Philadelphia residents concerning environmental and housing issues.

  • CLTC conducts regularly-scheduled monthly community meetings with featured community guest speakers.

  • CLTC partners with Welfare To Work, Communities in Schools, Department of Corrections, Pennsylvania Resource Council, clean water act, Philadelphia More Beautiful, The Philadelphia Recycling Advisory Committee, Neighborhood
